Sony Pictures Imageworks and Columbia Pictures’ animated film opened publicly in the Americas yesterday. Having worked on look development for the film, I just barely got to attend the premiere screening at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles earlier in the week. Possibly the last in the current spate of the “animals out of their element” movies, this one has a mix of potty humour (which I suspect translates very well internationally) and some jokes for the parents. The film looks great, the team did capture the feel inspired by Disney production art reference, notably that for “Sleeping Beauty”.
